Yoto says: Phonics fun for early learners. What sound does an s make? Do you know any words that begin with that sound?
What sound does an s make? What about a k? Join Yoto’s Jake Harris on the second phase of our fun-filled phonetic journey based on the UK national curriculum.
Letters and Sounds: Phase 2 encourages children to blend and sound out a host of new words, accompanied by helpful visuals. But be warned - not all words are as simple as they seem! The Tricky Words Card features words that don’t sound the way they look - an engaging challenge for ambitious kids!
This set includes six interactive audio cards, each introducing a new set of letter sounds:
1 - Letter Sounds: s, a, t, p
2 - Letter Sounds : i, n, m, d
3 - Letter Sounds : g, o, c, k
4 - Letter Sounds : ck, e, u, r
5 - Letter Sounds : h, b, f, ff, l, ll, ss
6 - Tricky Words
With each card building upon the last, your child will discover which sound each letter makes and learn to sound out words using those letters.
This Yoto Card requires a Yoto Player or Yoto Mini to be playable.
About Yoto
The Yoto player is a carefully connected screen free speaker for kids. Back in 2015 the founders of Yoto were, like many of us concerned about the effects of to much screen time for their kids.
They decided to make a prototype of a screen free speaker that kids from toddler to 12+ could enjoy. After launching a kickstart campaign in 2017 which was fulfilled in just days the first generation yoto player was put into production. Since then it has been a run away success with more cards and content and useful accessories being launched regularly.
2021 saw the launch of the Yoto mini, a smaller travel sized screen free speaker for day trips and holidays.
Here at Little Goat Gruff we have a Yoto player at home for our little ones, its a huge success and much loved by both of them. All the content is loved, podcasts, music, books plus we use the white noise and sleep songs for bed time and then as a night light! It is a very robust little machine, ours has weathered being left out in the rain (obviously NOT advised!), many drops and knocks and once the card slot may even of been filled with porridge…..we won’t name any names but it survived and is still going strong!
