Incredibly useful addition!

After buying the pastel geometry pack simply because it had more pieces in it (why are the pastel sets all bigger than the rainbow sets?) I wished I had got this one instead. A friend has just bought it and I'm jealous! The pastel colours are actually pretty insipid, and the rainbow colours are much more bright and beautiful. Not that any chld has ever noticed or commented on this, it's just my personal aesthetic! But the pastels are good for that more see-through element. I would say you ideally need TWO rainbow geometry sets for the maximum creativity, especially if you have more than one child. We found that connecting the long isoceles triangles together I work with kids, so am always looking out for open ended high quality toys, and Connetix ticks every possible box. The 19 month old I'm currently working with absolutely ADORES Connetix and ofte spends days on end playing with nothing else! He has learned so much and become so dexterous and skilful as well as building up his creative and logical reasoning and fine motor skills, language development and colour recognition. His favourite shapes (of all the different Connetix sets I now have) are now hexagons and triangles, which he can now name and recognise!
The hexagons and triangles in this set make all kinds of tesselation and hex-based builds possible. I would say that you really do need a good amount of squares as well though for more versatility. Ideally I'd recommend the mega pack, as it has both!
